One of Australia’s most highly regarded costume designers,  triple  AACTA- nominee  Mariot  Kerr has collaborated with such directors as Jim Loach, John Curran, Michael Rymer,  Kriv  Stenders, Jeffrey Darling and Emma Freeman.

Mariot  is the lead costume designer on the first Netflix series to be filmed in Australia “Pine Gap”.

Mariot costume designed the highly anticipated sci-fi feature  I am Mother, featuring  double  Academy-Award winner Hilary Swank and young  Danish up and comer Clara  Rugaard, which tells  tells the story of a lonely teenage girl “Daughter” (Rugaard),    the first of a new generation of humans raised by “Mother”;  a kindly robot designed to repopulate the earth following the extinction of mankind.
For director  Kriv  Stenders’ Mariot designed the costumes on the acclaimed  reimagining of  the classic  Kenneth Cook  novel  Wake  in  Fright,  starring  David Wenham, Alex Dimitriades, Sean Keenan  and Caren Pistorius.  The four-hour special television event  received 7 AACTA nominations, including Best Costume Design for  Mariot.

Mariot’s  other recent credits include HBO’s  highly acclaimed post-apocalyptic drama series The Leftovers,  starring Justin Theroux,  Liv Tyler and  Carrie Coon and the award winning  Foxtel political drama Secret City  starring Anna  Torv  and Jacki Weaver. She has previously worked on the highly celebrated mini-series  Anzac Girls  for the ABC and  Deadline Gallipoli  for Foxtel.

With feature film credits including  Red Dog, Chasing Satellites,  December Boys  and  Drift,  Paris-trained  Mariot  was nominated for Best Costume Design at the 2008 AACTA Awards for  Lucky Country  and again nominated for the same award in 2014 for her work on the feature film  Tracks  starring Mia  Wasikowska  and Adam Driver.
